North and West Vancouver Toilet Replacement Rebate Program

The City of North Vancouver, District of North Vancouver and District of West Vancouver have teamed up with the North Shore Recycling Program to deliver a toilet rebate replacement program. Rebates are issued on a first come first serve basis you can get $50 back for every 13L (or more) toilet you replace with a 6 liter (or less) or dual flush toilet.

Eligibility

  • Must be a resident of District of West Vancouver and the City of North Vancouver
  • Rebates are limited to two (2) toilets per property owner, regardless of zoning and permit requirements.
  • District of North Vancouver - rebates apply to any number of toilets in non-metered properties only, regardless of zoning (Unsure if you're metered? Check your utility bill, or call 604.990.3894).
  • New toilets must be CSA-approved with a flush volume of 6L or less and must replace toilets with a flush volume of 13L or greater toilets may be installed by the resident or by a licensed plumber (simple toilet replacement does not require a plumbing permit)
  • Submission of an application does not guarantee a rebate - applications are evaluated and processed on a first come, first-served basis, while rebate quantities last rebate application must be made within 90 days of toilet purchase

Application procedure

  1. Purchase and install a CSA-approved, 6L flush or dual-flush toilet
  2. Take your old toilet, along with your completed application form and original sales receipt, to the North Shore Recycling Drop-off Depot
  3. Obtain a receipt from Depot staff confirming that you have dropped off a 13L (or greater) toilet for recycling - the application will be forwarded to your Municipality for processing.
  4. Wait for your Municipality to confirm your eligibility. A rebate cheque of $50 per toilet, your original receipt, and a follow-up questionnaire will be mailed to you within six (6) weeks.
