Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification

Whether you’re new to green building, working on a registered project, pursuing LEED credentials, or seeking industry-specific information, the Canada Green Building Council offers a wide array of education opportunities.

Higher Education Program

In response to increasing requests for a LEED Canada-NC Course for post-secondary institutions, the CaGBC Higher Education Program launched the pilot delivery of the LEED Canada-NC Course; 'Building Green with LEED: LEED Canada for New Construction1.0 Rating System’ in the Spring of 2009. This initiative will make available the only CaGBC approved LEED Canada-NC full-semester (36 hr) course to Colleges and Universities.

LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) Program

More than 6,000 people have become LEED® Accredited Professionals (LEED APs) in Canada since 2001. LEED APs work in every sector of the building industry, and have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources, and processes. Click here to learn more about the benefits of becoming a LEED AP. Note: The CaGBC will continue to offer the LEED Canada NC 1.0 and LEED Canada CI exams in Canada for the duration of 2009. Further information will be posted soon with respect to the new credentialing program being developed by the GBCI (www.gbci.org) and its impact on LEED AP’s in Canada.
